Generally when anyone think of accidents and following claims, they think of long court cases and extra burden that they have to face for the case. It doesn't mean that you are going to take lawful action but a specialized solicitor can better converse to them and think over the right amount of compensation. 

Always try to make a healthy relation with your employer as it makes things easy for both. Things can be solved with a gentle talk and thus can also avoid you from further anxiety.
